I had a mini trip to London a couple of weeks ago to visit some old school and university friends, some of which I hadn't seen in nearly two years. Whilst I was there I took the time to visit a couple of exhibits and new places I hadn't been to before.
The first stop I made was to the Horniman Museum and Gardens to take a look at the Polly Morgan taxidermy exhibit. It was a small selection but a nice contrast to the rest of the old taxidermy in the museum and I always think it's great to see works in person wherever possible as photographs just can't portray them in the same way. This unusual birds and telephone piece was my favourite from the display.
The next day we headed to 20 Fenchurch Street to visit the new Sky Garden at the top of the walkie talkie building. Despite the foggy weather it was an amazing view overlooking the Thames, the Tower of London and St Pauls. I can't wait to go back up there on a clear day to fully appreciate it.
We had some spare time before meeting some other friends so we made a quick stop the One New Change roof terrace whilst we were in the area. Although the weather wasn't great it was nice to go up there at a time when it wasn't full of other people and you could just look over the city without distraction. Although by the looks of it Lizzy found some distraction...
