A couple of weeks ago I popped back to my home town, Coventry, for the weekend.
Whilst I was there I visited the Herbert Art Gallery, the main gallery in the city centre which was renovated a few years ago.
I enjoyed a look around the historical section and permanent galleries but an exhibition by street artist Pahnl was my favourite bit of the day. The stencilled timeline of the world that looped the room was informative, beautiful and funny - a winning combination that makes it perfect viewing for children and adults with varying levels of artistic interest.
The timeline featured a range of historical moments such as the Colosseum being built and man landing on the moon but was also peppered with pop culture references and little facts I'd never heard before.
If you're in the area and want to take a better look (my camera phone hasn't done it justice) the exhibition is still on until 4th October 2015.
Welcome to the Darwin Designs blog! I'm Alex and this is me circa 1996. Clearly I was destined to be a designer-maker.
